Kundapur: A 13 year old girl student has collapsed to death due to suspected cardiac arrest in Tallur village of the taluk on Thursday.

Anushree Shetty, who died of cardiac arrest, was the daughter of Arun Kumar Shetty and Bharathi Shetty is the deputy director of the Akshara Dasoha project in Kundapur, while Bharathi is a teacher at the Hakladi high school.

Anushree is reported to have collapsed unexpectedly when she was studying at home. She was taken to hospital immediately, but she died on the way.

The post mortem, reportedly, was conducted at the Manipal Hospital and the result is awaited.

Anushree’s eyes have been donated. Her last rites were conducted at her maternal grandparents’ house on Thursday night.

The teenager was studying in Class 8 at the Shri Siddi Vinayaka Residential School, Hattiangady, and excelled in studies as well as extracurricular activities, said sources.
