Belthangady: The Dharmadhikari of SDM temple, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade has lauded the Bhajan Mandirs, where devotees sing names of God, could be Centres of social change, solving local problems, showing a common path towards God, and excelling in soulful music, as places of importance in small towns.
Dr. Heggade had presided over 13th anniversary of a training workshop for devotional singing at the Dharmastala Mahotsava auditorium on Monday, September 12.
He reiterated that there was no other easy path than the one leading to Bhajan Mandirs, in reaching God in faith. At Dharmasthala, apart from Bhajan singing training, leadership qualities and personality development are taken care of he added.
The workshop was inaugurated by Sadhwi Hemavathi Veerendra Heggade. In Bhajans, the human voice is merged in the divine, she pointed out.
Manila Mohandas Swami gave the benedictory address. He said that Man’s nature changes, not his culture or Time. Secretary Vasant Salian welcomed. Ratnovarma Jain thanked the participants.
