Bengaluru : Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced a 17 percent salary hike for government employees as an interim relief.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said an order to this effect will be issued immediately. A committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) will be constituted to study the New Pension Scheme in other states, the financial implications, and other issues, and then submit a detailed report.

The CM appealed to the agitating employees to call off their strike.
