Mangaluru : A total of 72 candidates are in fray in Dakshina Kannada and 39 in Udupi district. In total 109 nominations were filed in eight constituencies in Dakshina Kannada and 88 in five constituencies of Udupi.

After the last day for filing nominations for the upcoming Assembly elections, the nominations were scrutinized on Friday.

In Dakshina Kannada seven nominations have been rejected while in Udupi district three nominations have been rejected.

One nomination has been rejected in Mangaluru North and two each in Mangaluru South and Bantwal.

In Udupi district, one nomination has been rejected in Kundapur and two in Karkala.

The last date for withdrawal of nomination is April 24.
