“Abhivridhi Patha” a book of Mangaluru South MLA developmental works released

Mangaluru : Mangaluru South Sitting MLA Vedavyas Kamath who is contesting from the same constituency for the upcoming Assembly elections, has claimed that he has succeeded in securing over Rs 4500 crore grants for his constituency during the past five years. He said developmental works worth Rs 2000 crores has been undertaken, and assured of transforming Mangaluru by the year 2025 if he was re-elected.

Kamath was speaking during the release “Abhivridhi Patha” which highlights the achievements and development undertaken during his past five year tenure. The event was held at Atal Seva Kendra on April 24, Monday.

Kamath said Jalasiri project is implemented with the objective of finding a permanent solution to the drinking water problem. He said over 40 overhead tanks have been constructed and works worth over Rs 792 crores are underway.

He said a Rs 300 crore KUDCEMP project is underway to solve underground drainage problems and added that several road works were underway under Smart City project.

At the same time he said the pace of developmental works had slowed down during the Covid pandemic when most outstation workers had left for their home states and added that all pending works would be completed in the next two years.

He said works worth Rs 125 crores have been taken up with regard to construction of retention walls for Rajakaluves.

As many as three government degree colleges of the city have secured A grade from NAAC, he said and added that this was an achievement for the first time in the state.

Abhivridhi Patha was released by Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary. Ravishanker Mijar, Diwaker, Premanand Shetty, Nitin Kumar and other party leaders were present.
