ABVP holds Nation wide protest against commercialization of education

Mangalore: As part of nation wide, the district wing members of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged protest against the commercialization of education at Ambedkar Circle, Jyothi on September 16, Thursday.

The students urged the central government to form a unique and suitable law to control the commercialization of education. The private educational institutions charge huge amount of fees for the professional courses which becomes impossible for the poor students, hence it must be revised.

Mahesh, Secretary of ABVP, speaking on the occasion, said that generally every educational institution’s are collecting huge fees from the students. Hence the poor students are facing problems during admission.
Though the introduction of legislations on education was proposed earlier, no authorities tried to prevent commercialization of education. The central government must not introduce the Prevention of Unfair Practices in Technical, Medical and Universities Bill, they added.
