ACB raids minor irrigation department AE’s residence at Udupi

Udupi: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials conducted surprise raids at the residence of the assistant engineer (AE) working in the minor irrigation department on Friday.

According to sources, the checks were conducted after a series of complaints were received against assistant engineer Harish.

The team led by DySP Manjunatha Kavari raided Harish’s Korangrapady house and inspections are underway.

The ABC officials found more than two kg of gold, Rs five lakh cash, high-end watches, three vehicles, golden plate, golden eating utensil, more than 15 golden bangles, more than 30 golden chains, necklace, bracelet, other golden ornaments, finger rings and a gold idol.

A 15-member ACB team led by DySP Manjunatha Kavari is still in the process of uncovering many more assets at the residence of Harish.

Meanwhile, Karnataka ACB raids 80 locations against 21 government officials in Bengaluru over disproportionate assets cases.

ACB team of 300 officers and staff are raiding office buildings and residences of government servants who allegedly held excess income and assets.

The officials who are being raided include Bheema Rao Y Pawar, Superintendent of Engineer from Belagavi, Assistant Engineer Harish from Udupi, Hassan city’s minor irrigation AEE Ramakrishna HV, Karwar PWD Assistant Engineer Rajiv Purasaiah Nayak, Ponnampet Zilla panchayat’s Junior Engineer BR Bopaiah, Belgaum District Registrar Madhusudhan, Bagalkote RTO Yellappa N Padasal.
