Bishop William L.D’Mello passes away

William L.D’MelloMangalore: Bishop W. Leoanard D’Mello who was the first Bishop in Karwar, breathed his last on Tuesday morning (July 18) at Fr. Mullers’s hospital in Kankanady. Several Bishops, sisters who were looking after him and priests were by the bedside when Bishop D’Mello passed away. He was born in 1931 at Cascia, then under Rosario Cathedral.
The late William D’Mello tended his new diocese in Karwar relentlessly and lovingly for 30 years, in North Kanara and gave an identity to the church here. His resignation due to ill-health was accepted in the company of priests and followers of the Rc church.
