Bus owners Association object permits to new buses on NH routes

Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada Private Bus Owner’s Association president Bhaskar Salian demanded to restrict the permission for the new buses to move on district highways.
He was speaking at a meeting held to discuss transportation issues with the DC V Ponnuraj at auditorium on September 18, Saturday.
While DC V Ponnuraj said that public demands for new buses cannot be ignored in most of the rural areas of the district. But there are no new buses required on NH 47.
Since the road works would commence within a couple of months, the road between Nantur and Talapady will be more congested in the coming days. The vehicles will be moving only on one side of the roads till the completion of the work, he added.
Superintendent of Police Dr A Subrahmanyeshwara Rao, DCP Mutthuraya, Regional Transport Authority officer Shiva Nayak, and others were present.
