Mangalore : Former Union Minister B Janardhana Poojary said that today is the last day for election campaign and congress party has tried to reach every place through padayatra, publicizing the party.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Mar 4, Monday, he said that in the course of election campaign for civic body poll 2013, he along with congress leaders and members have conducted the padayatra in Sullia, Puttur, Bantwal, B C Road for vote appeal. Whereas in Mangalore, he has visited most of the houses and shops asking people to choose for the right and deserving candidate.
He also said that people response throughout the yatra and their blessings have encouraged the congress workers to hold more padayatra. He said that the BJP leaders have tried a lot to stop the yatra through police department.
He also urged the minority voters to vote only to congress, since casting their one vote to SDPI or JDS will be like giving two votes to BJP. Hence don’t waste votes on other parties and given an opportunity for congress to render service. He added.
Congress leaders Harikrishna Bantwal, Purandaradas Kuloor and Kallige Tharnath Shetty were present.
