Mangalore : The students of Campus Front of India have taken a remarkable initiative by organizing a state level conference in order to have a social change for the good development of the society, said columnist and human right activist Shivsundar.
Speaking on the topic ‘Six Decades of Indian Democracy’ at the first state level conference organized by Campus of Front of India at Nehru Maidan on February 27, Sunday he said that India never gained freedom and it only lies in the hand of few people. Poor are becoming poorer and rich are becoming richer.
National president of CFI Advocate A Mohammed Yusuf, in his inaugural speech said that the conference will benefit the students and an opportunity to know about their rights. The country is struggling in the hands of ABVP and saffronization hence it must be changed to white which represent peace and harmony. He also called upon to eradicate commercialization of education.
Prior to the conference, a mega rally was carried out from Pumpwell Circle to the Nehru Maidan.
State President of CFI Mohammed Shakeer presided over the programme. Abdul Salam Puttige, editor of Vartha Bharathi, Pattabhiram Somayaji, lecturer, Mangalore University, K M Shareef, national chief secretary of PFI were present.
Abdul Rahiman, secretary of the committee welcomed the guests and gathering. Imran Khan proposed vote of thanks. Naseer and Abdul Raheem compered the programme.
Hindutva supporters have strong terrorist ideology: Dr. Shridhar
Mangalore : The Campus Front of India (CFI) as part of its first state-level conference organized a seminar at Don Bosco Hall on Feb 27, Sunday.
Delivering a talk on “Terrorism: Myth Exposed”, Dr. Shridhar, a social activist and head of the department of English at Vijaya College in Bangalore, Said that Hindutva, is one of the most dangerous terrorist ideologies that do not care about human values. The supporters of this ideology have strong connection to terrorism and violence without any hesitation.
He also said that he is frustrated over the government’s failure to check the anti-social and illegal activities of Hindutva leaders.
Shivasundar, the human rights activist and popular columnist, speaking on the “Six Decades of Indian Democracy,” said that Indian governments have totally neglected the values of the Indian constitution, which uphold justice and equality.
Pattabhirama Somayaji, the English teacher and social activist, spoke on the topic “Neoliberal Assault on Education” on the occasion.
