Mangalore: An inter – collegiate, national level series of competitions in various matters were held in St. Agnes’ College near Kadri at the College hall. Dr. A. Mohan Alva of Mudbidri, inaugurated the variety competitions.
Addressing students on the occasion, Dr. Alva stated that such competitions develop sharpness of intellect and awareness among them. When they meet their brethren from several other colleges in one place, they discuss matters and arrive at a consensus on a subject. As students they have to learn fast and improve their lot steadily, said the chief guest on the occasion.
Several educationists from Kanachur, Deralakatte, Sister Olvia Secratary of Cristofer Carmel (society) Mangalore, Sister Supriya, among several other dignitaries, were present on the occasion.
The event was called an Agnofest – 2010 UK Monu (President of Sayyed Madani Dargah) was the guest of honour.
Various faculties of the college took part in the national level inter collegiate event. Arts, Science, Commerce and Business Management held various competitions on Tuesday, under their own titles.
The valedictory function of this 2 day fest among various colleges in the country to bind students in one large relationship ends on Oct. 4, today at St. Agnes’ College premises.
