Congress leader K. Prathapchandra Shetty resigns from his KPCC post

Kundapura : Former chairman of Karnataka Vidhan Parishad and Congress leader K. Prathapchandra Shetty resigned from his KPCC post on Wednesday, January 18. He sent a letter to this effect to the KPCC and a copy of it to the AICC.

Pratap Chandra Shetty has confirmed that he has resigned from the membership of the Congress party. Earlier, he had given up the position of MLC. Now he has given up the membership of the KPCC.

Following his resignation from the post, there were rumors that Prathapchandra Shetty wishes to retire from active politics. Others speculated that he resigned due to his displeasure over distributing KPCC membership to party blocs.

Some reports on online media claimed that several Congress leaders, who came to know about the matter, tried to persuade Shetty to retract his resignation. It is learned that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also spoke over the phone late on Tuesday night.
