Udupi : BJP National Vice President and former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda who inaugurated the Udupi city and rural level party workers convention at Hotel Kidiyoor Auditorium on April 7, Sunday alleged that the Congress through its various policies was staking the honour of the nation.
Stating that the Congress was involved a number of scams and corruption cases, has however complained to the Election Commission against the State Cabinet decision to offer rice at Rs 2 per kg to the poor.
He also was highly critical of the Congress and said the party has to put an end to dirty politics. He said the BJP has been able to provide a clean administration since the past two years. On Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi MLA, he said Bhat who will not contest this time, will work for the party as a disciplined worker.
Raghupathi Bhat who also spoke, said people who could not bear with the developmental works imitated by him have now decided to resort to character assassination.
Kota Srinivas Poojari, District Minister also spoke on the occasion.Udupi’s BJP candidate Sudhaker Shetty said he along with Raghupathi Bhat will work unitedly for the victory of the party.
K Udaykumar Shetty, District President presided over the function. Several party leaders and workers took part in the convention.
