Customs officials seized Gold worth Rs.1.59 crore in separate incidents at MIA

Mangaluru : Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have seized gold weighing 3124.540 grams from five passengers who arrived from Dubai.

All the detained passengers were men and the seized gold valued at Rs 1,59,66,883.

They had concealed the gold in various ways. If one passenger had concealed the gold inside his jeans in the form of paste, another had concealed it in his innerwear while yet another passenger had hidden the gold in capsule form in rectum. One of the passengers had a towel which was dipped in a solution containing gold.

The separate incidents took place between October 8 and 21.
