The Karnataka High Court today directed the CID of Police in city to file a charge sheet and complete the probe into serious allegations of raping a friend’s wife in May 2010, by March 31 next.
A petition filed by State Human Rights Commission seeking a CBI probe into the criminal incident, was disposed of today by a division bench of CJ Khehar and Judge A.S.Bopanna asked the Criminal Investigation Department’s DIG Charan Reddy to supervise the follow-up action personally.
BJP legislator Halappa is on bail after being arrested for a criminal act. The incident raised a furore in state politics in 2010, and the minister Halappa had to resign to be a legislator only.
