Mangaluru: “All the home guards in the district will be provided two saplings, thus the home guard department is extending its support to ‘Koti Vraksha Abhiyana’,” said home guards district Commandant Dr Murali Mohan Chunthar.
He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Koti Vraksha Abhiyana’ at Bantwal, B C Road home guards unit office.
“There are one lakh home guards present in the district. Each and everyone is trying to implement this scheme effectively,” he said.
He further said that ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ will be held in next month. Public places and government offices will be cleaned by home guards.
He urged the public to respect the home guards and to cooperate with them in their duty.
Bantwal SSI Nandakumar, Unit officer M Bhoja, B R Shrenivas and others were present.
