Mangalore: Union HRD Minister Pallam Raju has said that educational institutions must accord top importance to ensure quality of education.
Speaking to reporters at Circuit House in Mangalore on January 4, Friday, the minister said the educational institutions must also take strict action in cases of harassment of female students.
Referring to saffronisation of text books, Pallam Raju said the Centre can only warn the states and that only the state education boards can do the needful.
Managements and students from various educational institutions submitted memoranda highlighting various problems and seeking solution to the same.
Ramanatha Rai, DK District congress President, UT Khader, MLA, Vinaykumar Sorake, former MP, Ivan D’Souza, TK Sudhir, PV Mohan and other leaders were present.
