Puttur: Former CM D V Sadananda Gowda has expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking to mediapersons after visiting Mahalingeshwara Kshethra in Puttur he claimed that the Modi wave is explicit throughout the country. “The Congress government in the State had failed to deliver good governance in the last 10 months. The groupism in the Congress has given an opportunity for the BJP to excel in the polls. The BJP will bag more than 20 seats in Karnataka,” he predicted.
“We had a set back in the last Assembly polls. However, we will overcome all our drawbacks and will emerge victorious. No development works have been initiated in the last few months. The citizens are in search of an able leader to rule the country,” he said.
Gowda said that the BJP has announced names of its candidates for 20 LS constituencies in Karnataka. The candidates were selected after consulting party workers. There is no confusion in the party, he said.
The former CM said “the Party High Command has given me an opportunity to contest from Bangalore North constituency. I had started my political career from Puttur Mahalingeshwara Kshethra. I have come here to seek the blessings of Lord Mahalingeshwara for the success of my political career.”
He said that the pseudo environmentalists have no knowledge on Yettinahole project. Without understanding the reality, they are engaged in levelling allegations.
“I oppose Netravathi river diversion. However, Yettinahole is different from Netravathi river diversion. As per the Yettinahole project, only rain water will be collected and diverted to the parched districts. Rain water from Yettinahole and other 11 streams will be collected for 100 days and will be supplied to parched districts. Every year, 3,000 tmc water from Netravathi river flows to the sea,” the former chief minister emphasized
