Mangaluru : The 58thHalf Yearly Meeting and Annual Award Distribution Function of the Town Official Language Committee (TOLIC), Mangaluru was held at Corporation Bank Head Office on 28th May 2015.
R. Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director of Corporation Bank and Chairman of TOLIC, Mangaluru chaired the meeting. B K Srivastav, Executive Director of the Bank, N. Vijaya Kumar, General Manager &P VijayKumar , Dy. Director, Regional Implementation Office (South), Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Government of India were present. Heads of member organisations comprising Central Government Departments, Government Undertakings and Public Sector Banks attended the meetings along with their Official Language officials

In his address, S.R. Bansal complimented the member organizations for their wholehearted support during the Joint Regional Conference of South & South-west regions held at Mangaluru.He appreciated various innovative activities conducted by bilingual technology Research Institute under TOLIC and urged to continue this trend.
S. R. Bansal gave away the trophies to the best performing institutions in the field of Official Language implementation during the year 2014-15. In the Public Sector Banks’ category, Corporation Bank secured the first prize while Union Bank of India &Canara Bank got second and third prizes respectively. Vijaya Bank & State Bank of Mysore got special prizes. Among Public Sector Undertakings, MRPL & Engineers India got first & second prizes respectively, BSNL and Airports Authority of India secured third prize. KIOCL Ltd. & New Mangaluru Port Trust got special prize. Under Central Govt. Officescategory, All India Radio secured first prize, Employees Provident Fund Organisation got second prize &Doordarshan Maintenance Centre bagged the third prize. Indian Coast Guards & Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute got special Prizes. Bankers Institute of Rural Development got prize for excellence in training college category.
B K Srivastav, Executive Director appreciated the linguistic harmony of people of Mangaluru in accepting and respecting other languages.This inherent quality has made Mangaluru TOLIC unique. He suggested to conduct various activities for schools, colleges & social institutions.

P VijayKumar , Dy. Director (Implementation), Regional Implementation Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India reviewed the quarterly progress reports on Official Language implementation submitted by the member organisations.
Dr. Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal, Member Secretary of the Committee &Deputy General Managerpresented a report on the activities of the TOLIC and its future plans.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Ambarish Kumar Singh, Chief Manager, Corporation Bank.
