Mangaluru : City Police Commissioner S. Murugan has decided to shift the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (South) from Pandeshwar to Thokkottu for better supervision and administration.
The Mangaluru South sub-division, which is one of the three sub-divisions of the Mangaluru Police Commissionerate, comprises of Mangaluru South, Mangaluru Rural, Ullal and Konaje police stations. The office of the ACP (South) has been located on the premises of Mangaluru South police station at Pandeshwar.
Mr. Murugan told that relocating the ACP (South) office was necessary for better supervision and administration of areas coming under the South sub-division. “Relocating it somewhere around Thokkottu Junction, it will be convenient for the ACP to visit areas under Ullal, Konaje and Mangaluru Rural police stations,” he said. Mr. Murugan said the three police stations in the sub-division had areas that were sensitive to law and order disturbance. Mr. Murugan said they were in search of new premises for the ACP office where there would be many number of visitors.
