10th Graduation Ceremony held at St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor

st JosephMangaluru : The 10th Convocation Ceremony of St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor, Mangaluru was held on 7th of November 2015, at the College Open Air Stage, with a record number of 556 Graduands in Engineering, Post Graduands in MBA, MCA, and M.Tech, along with the First PhD Degree awarded from SJEC Research Centers.

The occasion was distinguished by the presence of honourable Vice Chancellor of Mangaluru University, Prof. K Byrappa as the Chief Guest. Mr Melwin D’Silva, Regional Manager Air India (Gulf, Middle East and Africa) graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru and President of SJEC, presided over the Ceremony.

st JosephAddressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Prof. K Byrappa spoke of the need to choose a career based on personal interest and continue to develop innovation and scientific approach in thinking. He acknowledged the support given by Christian Institutions, specially, St Aloysius College – Mangaluru, in the initial stages of setting up Mangalore University. To the Graduates, his advice was to adapt to the changing needs of their profession, and to the Management of SJEC, he suggested the need for actively promoting research both among faculty, in completing doctoral degree, and students to be actively involved in research beginning with the fifth semester itself.

The ceremony included honoring the toppers of each Departments and also achievers in Sports activities.
