Puttur: Locals of Valalbail in Bajathur found a body lying on NH 75 on Wednesday morning. It is being said that the death might have occurred due to an accident.
The deceased has been identified as Shaukat Ali (28) of Arehalli, Belur. Locals saw the body on Wednesday morning 3.30 am and informed the police. Police came to the spot and checked for evidences and they found a mobile phone in slain Shaukat’s trousers. This led to the identification of him.
After the post mortem the body was handed over to the family by Puttur traffic police. The post mortem was conducted at Mangaluru hospital.
As per the sources Shaukat was running a wood cutting business and recently his wife Fauzia delivered a baby. He had been to Mangaluru to visit his wife and new born after the deliver and later he had gone to Fauzia’s house to see his elder daughter. While coming back from there he went missing under suspect able circumstances.
It is also said that Shaukat and his in-laws didn’t had a good relationship between them. Shaukat had also informed one of his relatives that his mother-in-law had slapped him over an issue.
Shaukat’s relatives are alleging the involvement of Fauzia’s family members in Shaukat’s death. As there are 20 injury marks on Shaukat’s body, Fauzia’s brother and mother should be interrogated severely.
Police Circle Inspector, Anil Kulkarni, Traffic Station Sub-Inspector, Nagaraj, Upinangady Sub-Ispector, Thimmappa Naik, and others visited the spot.
