Udupi: “Senior Congress leaders should not give any public statements concerning the party and should not discuss the party matter publically. It is better not to indulge themselves in unnecessary talks,” said Working President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Dinesh Gundu Rao.
Addressing a media conference at district Congress bhavan, Brhmagiri on Sunday he said that after becoming the working president of KPCC it is first visit to Udupi.
“Being a senior party leader Janardhana Poojary should stop giving anti-party statements. Recently he said that if George comes back to the cabinet then party will not survive. This is a politically motivated statement. AICC will take this issue seriously and the action will be taken if necessary,” he stated.
Further commenting on mass contact programme he said that most of the people are unaware of panchayat raj system and their rights. On October 2 the Congress government will launch a mass awareness programme to educate the people regarding the laws, schemes and the governmental programmes.
“The programme will be held in Vidurashwa village in Chikkaballapur district. Along with this programme we are marking Gandhi Jayanthi. Congress has planned to mark Indhira Gandhi’s birth anniversary by holding year-long programmes from November 19, 2016 to November 19,2017,” he said.
Commenting on DySP Ganapathi case he said that there are no evidences to prove George, former home minister guilty in this case. It is all BJP’s political game.
“Opposition doesn’t have any moral rights to speak on this case. It is also proved that there is no involvement of the government in IAS officer D K Ravi’s death also,” he added.
MP Oscar Fernandes, district in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, MLC Pratapchandra Shetty, former MLA Gopal Bhandary, Manjunath Gowda, Chief Secretary NSUI and others were present.
