The Shobha Yatre was started at Kamadhenu Ganapathi Temple and concluded at Inam Dattatreya Peeta and passed through Basavanahalli Road, Hanumanthappa Circle, MG Road, post office and concluded at Bholarameshwara temple. The Dattatreya idol was taken out in a procession.

The devotees wearing saffron dhoti and shawl held Bhagawadhwaja and chanted Datta bhajan throughout their journey. As many as 70 Naga Sadhus participated in the shobhayatra. The police had beefed up security in the town as part of shobhayatra. The movement of vehicles on MG Road was prohibited.

As the district administration refused permission for Naga Sadhus to offer pooja to Datta Paduke, a sadhu from Hrishikesha Akhada carried out ‘Hata Yoga’ inside the cave at Inam Dattatreya Peeta. The district administration had allowed the pooja to Datta Paduke by Sarvadharma Samanvaya Peeta seer Sangamananda Swami and another seer.

When Ramdi Das, a Naga Sadhu attemped to offer pooja to Datta Paduke, the officials denied permission. Enraged over it, he carried out Hata yoga on the spot and refused to move further.

When Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik and state convener Mahesh Kattinamane urged the authorities to allow Naga Sadhus to offer pooja to Datta Paduke, tension prevailed at the site.

Later, bowing pressure from the protesters, the officials allowed the sadhus to enter the sanctum sanctorum and offer flowers to the paduke.
