Mangaluru : Two of the Talapady Navayuga Toll plaza staff have been arrested on charges of assaulting a commuter on May 21.
Deekshith (28) and Kaushik (21) were arrested as per police complaint.
The incident took place on Monday when Ansar and three others were travelling towards Talapady from Mangaluru while reaching Talapady Toll Plaza, when the staff asked them to pay their fare, Ansar refused saying he is a localite. As per the rules, people living in close proximities need not pay the toll price and are exempted from the fare.
However, Ansar’s car had Maharashtra registration (MH), the staff then asked them to produce registration documents of the vehicle. When Ansar refused to produce any documents, the staff raged and picked up a fight with them. The fight caused injuries on Ansar.
Ullal Police arrested the two toll booth staff, and an attempt-to-murder case has been registered against the two accused.
