Rajanath singhMangaluru : Crimes of communal nature in Kasaragod in Kerala were spreading to Dakshina Kannada, according to Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP. The MP met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Sunday and submitted a memorandum.

Mr. Kateel said in the memorandum that organisations, namely the Popular Front of India, which succeeded the National Development Front and the Karnataka Forum for Dignity, has a good presence in Kasaragod.

The Kerala government had told the High Court that the activities of these organisations posed a threat to national security.

Mr. Kateel said that members of these organisations were accused in communal crime incidents in Dakshina Kannada.

Therefore the Union government should ban these organisations. He said members of these organisations were posting messages on social media platforms threatening his life.

Mr. Kateel said that the attitude of the Karnataka government towards governance and relentless appeasement of the minority community was a cause of concern. While mentioning about the tension in Dakshina Kannada following death of RSS activist Sharath Madiwala on July 4, Mr. Kateel has listed in his letter the alleged murders of political activists reported in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Madikeri since October 2015. Mr. Kateel asked Mr. Rajnath Singh to seek a report from the State government about the situation in Dakshina Kannada following the recent group clashes and two murders.

He has also urged the Centre to direct the State government to deal with the forces that are creating communal trouble with an iron hand.
