ananth-hegdeMangaluru: Union Minister for skill development and entrepreneurship Anant Kumar Hegde on Thursday promised a job for slain Bajrang Dal member Deepak Rao’s brother Sathish at the Kudremukh Iron Ore Company (KIOCL).

The offer comes close on the heels of chief minister Siddaramaiah directing officials to give Sathish a job at the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, or any other government job.

Hegde gave Rs 25,000 in his personal capacity to Deepak’s mother Premalatha, and offered condolences to the family, over their son’s murder.

Sathish, 26, is speech and hearing impaired and is currently dependent on the family income for his daily expenditure.

Deepak was murdered in broad daylight on January 3.
