Mangaluru : Krithika, Anisha D Kulal, Navyashree & Roshan Sunaina M, students of the Information Science & Engineering Department at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru have exhibited the project entitled “POSE INVARIANT KEY POINT BASED FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEM” at Bapuji Institute of Engineering & Technology, Davangere on 10th & 11th August, 2018. This project was adjudged as “BEST PROJECT OF THE YEAR” in the Seminar/Exhibition organized by Karnataka State Council for Science & Technology (KSCST). 33 teams from various Engineering colleges across Karnataka were participated in the final round of the competition.
The project developed an automated face recognition system which could recognize human faces irrespective of pose & illumination variations. The system used key point (Weber magnitude & Orientation) based feature extraction method.
The project was supervised by Prof. Rajesh D.S, Department of Computer Science & Engineering & Swathi, Department of Information Science & Engineering and co-ordinated by Mr. Atmaranjan K, Department of Information Science & Engineering.
