Mangaluru : “Ancient Indian Knowledge is important for Contemporary Researchers” said Prof. P. Shripathi Tantri, Senior Professor of Sociology & Former Syndicate Member of Mangalore University. He was addressing as Chief Guest of the valedictory function of a 10 days Research Methodology Course sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and organised by the Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences, Mangalore University.
The valedictory was held at 3.30pm on 13-3-2020, in Dr. D. VeerendraHeggade Hall of the Lecture Complex, Mangalagangothri. The Chief Guest emphasized the importance of Indian philosophy and knowledge for the contemporary researchers and society. Furthermore, he encouraged participants to do their research in the most professional manner.Prof. P. Shripathi Tantri was felicitated by Prof. A. M. Khan, Registrar, Mangalore University on this occasion.
Prof. A. M. Khan, Registrar of the University presided over the function. Prof. K. Krishna Sharma, Professor and Chairman, Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences, Mangalore University, the Course Director, presented a brief report of the 10 days’ workshop that gathered 15 resource persons from Indian and foreign universities covering 35 topics on research methodology. Of the 30 participants from different parts of the nation, few participants shared their experiences. They expressed, the workshop was a good exercise, especially for the interdisciplinary research and how they learnt a lot and enjoyed wonderful food and a comfortable environment.
Prof. P. Shripathi Tantri and Prof. A. M. Khan distributed certificates to the participants.
