Mangalore: Indian struggle for Independence lasted for country and its 150th year is being commemorated on Sept.17/18 at Uchila Bovi school hall in Someshwara, jointly sponsored by Bangalore and New Delhi culture departments here.
DK minister Krishna Palemar inaugurates the celebration and cultural programmes will be held in memory of Tippu Sultan on Saturday at 5-30pm, with MLA U.T.Khader in the chair.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Kannada/culture Assistant Director Mangala Naik, ZP member S.Kumpala will be present on the occasion as guests.
Patriotic songs by Namrita Kini, dance ballet by Ullal Pramod, Yakshagana by G.Girish Navuda and party are on the cards, the culture dept. officer informed. An art of camp will be held from Sept.16 to 18. Senior artists will grace the camp. Several competitions also will be held, Mangala Naik said.
