Abu Dhabi: A fully equipped new sports complex was opened for the students of Abu Dhabi Indian School and for sports enthusiasts on Tuesday, September 27. Dr. B.R. Shetty, Chairman of Board of Governors, and Local cricket council chief, inaugurated it.
The stadium has a revamped 200 meters synthetic athletic track with an astro turf football ground and a new tennis court, in the complex.
Dr. Shetty believes that sorts should be a part of main curriculum and get “marks” for children, setting them on the path of a lifetime of fitness.
The members of the Board, namely Richard D’Souza(treasurer) and Sarvotham Shetty(sports) have long contributed voluntary services to the school.
Dr. Shetty asked the fortunate students of Indian school to maximise their use of modern facilities, and balance learning skills and sports talents alike.
There was a display of physical skills by students Amass drill in coordinated efforts followed by 4oo boys senior girls performed a tribal dance. They were relay races. The track was easy and bouncing to run on.
