Bangalore: The state Film Awards Committee headed by actor Dwarkish, has (Post-humously) conferred the best actor award on late Vishnu Vardhan for his role as ‘Apta-rakshak’(friend in need) for 2009-10, on October 20.
The list of awards was released by CM D V Sadananda Gowda. Vishnu Vardhan never received this award alive, but it is the last box office hit he acted in, which brought his name alive to the notice of public.
A retired star, Anu Prabhakar won the Best actress award for Parikshe. The best picture award went to ‘Rasa Rushi Kuvempu’ on the poet.’Manasare’ and ‘Love Guru’ bagged next two positions.
Veteran actor Sudarshan(son of R. Nagendra Rao) secured Life Time. ‘Rajkumar’ award while lyricist C.V.Shankar got Puttanna Kanagal award, and producer S V Ankalgi was named for’ ‘Vishnu Vardhan’ award. Best photography award went to veteran Sundernath Suvarna.V. Harikrishna was the best music scorer. A Christion Konkani film ‘Kaazaar’(marriage) won the best regional film award.
