Mangalore: Ms. Dola Mohapatra was in Mangalore ion Friday at Prajna Centre(Kankanady) to participate in a proposed sponsorship of an underprivileged child by the elite people of Mangalore, to make a difference in the lives of such children by donors and patrons. She is the national Director of Child Fund India, that spent Rs1,000 crores in 60years.
Speaking at the promotional meet held at Prajna Counselling Centre in city on Friday(November 4), Dola explained that she was looking for local successful donors who could give a part of their large incomes to her mission to support a poor child.
The best way, she added, to associate with the national children’s fund by a donor is to sponsor a child by paying Rs 20 a day or Rs600 a month or Rs 7,200 a year from the people of the coast, towards better living of about 12,000 children. The Fund already had 12 partners in 9 districts of Karnataka, supporting around 2000 kids in the state, and 12000 of them all over India.
Dola impressed upon her listeners that each sponsorship by a partner grew 10 times, to reach a lakh of unfortunate children across Indian states, through child Fund India. India has more millionaires than USA. Te fund has served for 60 years in India, with 500 partners, she stated.
