Bangalore: DCP Ramesh was injured in a show of strength by city lawyers, and he was treated in a hospital, but the doctors assured all concerned that he was out of danger.
The irate lawyers had come prepared to commit violence at the city civil court, where prohibitory orders were enforced, and reporters were looking for mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, brought in a police van from Andhra for legal enquiry.
The advocates had set fire to 7 or 8 two-Wheelers parked in court compound. Their photos were taken on mobile phones by a public person. The lawyers also set fire to a police outpost in desperation, apart from throwing stones at police personnel.
The lawyers brought disgrace to their profession and committed Goondaism attracting legal punishment today, March 2.
Protests have been made against violent advocates including in atrocities against and arm of law, and presspersons.
Law minister Sureshkumar in Mysore, wanted to know what actually happened, when CM asked him to look into the ugly incidents at the civil court complex. But public in many towns did not wait, and took out rallies against rowdy lawyers.
