Mangalore : CS Krishna Setty, President of the Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy has expressed his displeasure over the annual grants extended to the Academy by the government.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on May 27, Sunday, he urged the government to increase the annual grant given to the academy to at least Rs 2 crores.
He also made a request that the amount given along with the awards of the Academy too be increased and added proposals have been sent to the Government.
He also informed that a proposal would also be sent urging the government to rename the Academy as the Karnataka Visual Arts Academy. Setty further informed that a committee would also be formed to oversee the functioning of the Academy.
