Mangalore: MCC Commissioner Harish Kumar has warned public from putting up banners and buntings unauthorisedly,
Speaking to reporters in the city, he said those resorting to such unlawful means will have to pay as fine double the amount that was required to vacate the hoardings or buntings. He said the MCC will have separate vehicles and staff to monitor the putting up of buntings and hoardings. He said the task of putting up buntings usually take place during night and added this was a punishable offence He said all political parties would be taken into confidence on the issue.
On the stray dog menace, he said the dogs cannot be killed as per the Supreme Court ruling and said tenders have been invited to conduct sterilization operations on stray dogs.
On the increasing problem of beggars, he said operation against beggars will be held once in fifteen days and the beggars who are trapped are sent to the rehabilitation centre at Pachanady. He said the centre can accommodate 150 people and added presently it had 100 inmates.
