Mangalore : Corporation Bank, the premiere public sector bank of the nation celebrated its 108th Foundation Day at the TMA Pai international convention centre in Mangalore on March 12, Tuesday. The Lifetime Achievement Award presentation ceremony was also held to coincide with the occasion. The Bank Chairman Ajay Kumar along with Executive Directors Amarlal Daultani and BK Srivastava paid tributes to the Founder Khan Bahadur Haji Abdulla Kasim Saheb by garlanding his portrait.
Ajay Kumar, who inaugurated the programme, said the Bank which began operations with just 38 rupees has today grown by leaps and bounds with its total business reaching Rs 2,60,000 crores.He also delved on the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Bank and said it has contributed to several welfare programmes.
The Corporation Bank Lifetime Achievement Awards were conferred on Devendra Raj Mehta, Founder of the Bhagavan Mahavir Vikalang Sahayata Samithi, Padmashree Aloysius Prakash Fernandes, Anand Kumar who is helping underprivileged children and renowned singer Padmashree A Hariharan. The Bank had conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala at Dharmasthala recently
Later, there was a musical programme by Hariharan.
