Mangaluru : The Agricultural Science Centre of Fisheries College and Department of Fisheries jointly organised National Fish Farmers’ Day at Fisheries College Ekkur on Monday, July 10.
State Minister for Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj was inaugurated the event.
Speaking after the inauguration Minister said, because of inadequate fishing in inland area and highest sea fishing is the problem to fishery.
Andhra Pradesh has been achieved in inland fishing. It is regrettable that the state has neglected the inland fishing, he said.
Officers have been advised to encourage farmers to conduct fish farming In the yard at Zaveri in North Karnataka.
Dr M N Venugopal, Dean of Fisheries College, V K Shetty, Managing Director of KFDC, Dr Shivakumar, Chief of Agricultural Science Centre and others were present.
