Mangaluru : The Puttur Rural police have arrested an Inter-state House thief who was involved in a series of house thefts in Bellare police station limits. The arrested is Mahammed K U, 42, from Kannur in Kerala. A team of police led by Puttur rural station PSI Udayaravi M Y and Ramakrishna, probing into serial house theft cases reported at Kattatharu, Keyyur, and Madavu in July 2021, arrested him.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to having committed house thefts in Savanoor, Belandoor and Pallatharu areas. The police have recovered gold ornaments and a motorcycle worth Rs 2.50 lakh. He had also committed thefts in Konaje, Vittal, Bantwal, and Punjalkatte police station limits. There are more than 120 house theft cases registered against him in various police stations in Kerala.
