Karnataka-High-CourtBangalore: The 2nd Upa Lokayukta, former KHC Judge S. Chandrasekharaiah has already been appointed and he has jointed duty. But chief Justice of KHC, Vikramjit Sen is unhappy as he was not consulted under the legal previsions, and wrote to state Government to recall the second Upa Lokayukta, which is not done. The irregularity remains.

The KHC took up for examining the issues involved on Friday as per petitions accepted by it, but postponed further enquiries to February 27.

The Advocate-general N. Vijayshankar, in a submission to the single bench of Judge N. Kumar, asked for more time to raise objections against he bunch of petitions that had questioned the appointment of a second up-Lokayukta illegally(without consulting KHC chief Justice, as required).

The petitioners, both lawyers, M. Anand and Janagere Krishna, had complained to the High Court that Justice Chandrasekharaiah’s appointment was irregular. Further hearing is on February 27 now.
