Mangaluru : St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Sahodaya organized World Ability Awareness week and the Valedictory program was held on December 5,2014 in Eric Mathias Hall.
The students from Sahodaya,NSS, AICUF and Dramatics associations had gathered for the ‘Project Vision’ program.
The Project Vision is a core group of committed persons from civil service, medicine, social work, education, religion and corporate backgrounds that are committed in making available their talents, resources and contacts to provide a new lease of life to the visually challenged with their vision-“Let everyone see.”Fr. George Kannanthanam, Director of Project Vision was the guest of honour and he enlightened the students about the process and importance of eye donation and said that nothing can prevent us from donation.
He also advised the students to pledge their eyes and to become Vision Ambassadors if interested which will provide opportunities to blind people to gain sight. The Project Vision team also conducted performances such as a song by Miss Rosemary and a skit and mime by team Shunya. The Sahodaya associations were very successful in selling about 3000 pocket calendars among the aloysians and the amount was given to the children of Snehasadan to educate them.
Posters and slogans were put up all over the khatte in college to spread awareness regarding disability.
