Mangalore, Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala win awardsMangalore: Mangalore City Corporation has been declared as the second best such public of elected representatives for wards, next only to Mysore. Mayor Rajani Dugganna and City Commissioner Dr. Vijay Prakash received the award from Urban Development minister Suresh Kumar in the presence of Krishna Palemar, DK in charge on Tuesday. Award included Rs.3lakhs.
Mangalore, Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala win awardsUdupi stood first in Team Council, while Kundapur also headed the City Council awards in the state. Karkala City Council took the bronze medal in 3rd position. Only Mysore made the significant mark among city corporations (about ten) in the state outside the coastal belt, in view of its measured development under a royal regime and expansion in view of Dasara and cultural activities, bedsides a national level 200 to boot. K Mohandas Shenoy accepted the award from the minister for Kundapur City council’s progress.
