Mangaluru : A ‘Seven Day National Level Training Programme’ sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is being held at Mangalore University, in collaboration with Shivaji University, Kolhapur and it will continue till November 20 (Sunday).
It is being jointly organized by the DST-PURSE Instrumentation Centre, CARRT & MHRD-RUSA NMR Instrument Centre of Mangalore University under the DST-STUTI scheme. Karnataka University (Dharwad) Vice Chancellor Prof. K B Gudasi, in his inaugural address stressed on the importance of right procedure of handling the equipment, getting the results and its analysis.
Presiding over the function, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya opined that the research centres of Mangalore University are involved in establishing collaborative research with many international research centres to bring the best research outcomes. Prof. Rajendra G. Sonkawade of Shivaji University was the resource person.
DST-PURSE Instrumentation Centre Coordinator Prof. B. Vishalakshi welcomed the gathering, introduced the guests, and highlighted the features of the DST-STUTI scheme. Deputy Coordinator Prof. Boja Poojary rendered vote of thanks. CARRT Coordinator Prof. Karunakara N. was present in the programme. Ms. Lavina Gladis Serrao compered the session. In this week long programme, 40 researchers from all over the country will be acquiring hands-on training on the use of sophisticated equipment in research.
