Mangalore : The Anti Naxal force constituted by police authorities in Shimoga, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru has intensified its search to capture social rebels in Naxal forest areas today in view of a ”Naxal Week” declared by armed oppressors in these districts.
DSP S. Murugan told pressmen here that the combing (searching) operations will increase with vigor in forests of all 3 districts. The Naxal week call is given all over the country to mislead people by Naxalite command.
No insurgent movements were visible in Hosanagar and Thirthahalli, the usual Naxal areas, he added.
Rs. 30 lakhs worth of stolen materials (from Naxal or other hideouts) were seized by Anti-Naxal squad (ANS) from various places, not necessarily Naxal, in this week.
