New Delhi : The public sector oil marketing companies might increase petrol prices by Rs.0.65 per litre from December 15 midnight.
The oil PSUs have been waiting for the nod from the government.
The rupee’s fall to an all-time low against the US dollar has resulted in an increase in the cost of oil imports.
State-owned oil firms had cut petrol prices on two occasions in the past one month after international petroleum rates eased. They had reduced petrol prices by Rs.2.22 per litre or 3.2 per cent on November 16 and followed it with a Rs.0.78 cut per litre from December 1.
