Udupi : A man who was an accused in a POCSO case registered in Manipal police station and was absconding since the past two years, has been arrested at the Indo-Nepal border.

The arrested person is Jithendra Sharki (26). He had failed to appear before the court since the past two years despite being served 16 warrants.

A week-long search by Manipal police officials resulted in the arrest of the accused from a place in Ban Basa police station limits of Uttarakhand on January 20.

He has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
