Mangaluru : A policeman named Sunil has been suspended by the City Police Commissioner in connection with the January 1 incident of alleged police atrocity on a minor boy in the vicinity of the Tannirbavi beach.

The injured boy, a standard six student was hospitalized following the incident. After the issue came to the notice of the Commissioner he sought a report from the Inspector of the Police Station concerned. Now, on the basis of the report, one police personnel have been suspended.

So far no police complaint has been lodged by the boy’s family in connection with the incident.
