Mangalore : A 3 day festival of faith among Roman Catholic youths to awaken strong belief in God and his spiritual word was inaugurated by Mangalore Bishop, Dr. Rev. Aloysius Paul D’Souza in the presents of thousands of Christian laity in a congregation held on Friday Nov.22 at the Nehru Maidan.
The Aradana of Christ when Christmas is nearing is full of meaning for the youth and elderly people a like who gathered at the spot to renew their faith in God in the spiritual programme that followed.
Blessing the occasion and the people Bishop D’Souza declared that faith in God among youths right at the beginning of their public life was a virtue and a necessity.
The element of religious faith among Christians has been confirmed by previous Pope Benedict-16th and later again the present Pope Francis has trusted the value of faith in the Christian religion during the last 1 year of his reign by a number of spiritual activities that he has conducted among the Romans and other followers, the Bishop said.
He advised local youths to be aware of God, religion and spiritual faith all during their active days.
Diocese of Mangalore official and director of the present spiritual programs Fr. Fr. Vincent Montero, Fr. Nelson, Fr. Melvin Pinto, Dennis Moras Prabhu among others were present on the spiritual and memorable accession.
YCS Director Fr. Edwin Correa and ICYM Director Fr. Ronald D’Souza compared the programme.
These courses on the topic of faith in its various facets were delivered by Fr Vinith from Varanasi, Fr Joseph Eduttu of Divine Retreat Centre, Muringur, Kerala and Fr. Clifford Fernandes.
Rev. Fr. Abraham conducted the Holly Mass. Fr. Michael Santhmayor performed the music relevant to the spiritual occasion.
The program will continue on Saturday (today) at the same venue at 4.30 pm for the second day.
