Soldier K V Ashwin ‘s last rites performed with all state honours

Kasargod : The mortal remains of K V Ashwin (24) of Chervattur in Kasargod who was one among those killed in the Arunachal Pradesh Army Helicopter crash was brought to his hometown on Monday and the last rites took place with full state honours on a land adjacent to the family home at Kiyakkamuriya.

The mortal remains earlier reached Kannur Airport and from there was brought to Chervattur. Army officials accompanied the mortal remains of Ashwin which was first placed at the Chervattur Kiyakkamuriya library premises for public to pay their last respects.

Port minister Ahmed Devar Kovil paid respects to the soldier on behalf of the state government of Kerala. District collector Bhandary Swagath laid wreath on the coffin of the late soldier on behalf of the chief minister of the state.

Thousands of people paid their last respects. Ahmed Devar Kovil, the State’s Ports Minister paid his respects on behalf of the Chief Minister. MP Raj Mohan Unnithan, MLAs E Chandrashekharan, CH Kunhumbu and many others paid their last respects.
